Since 2006, the Benson-Henry Institute (BHI) has been integrating the field of mind/body medicine into Massachusetts General Hospital’s clinical care, research and training programs. The mission of BHI is to fully integrate mind body medicine into mainstream healthcare at the Massachusetts General Hospital, as well as throughout the country and the world, by means of rigorous, evidence-based research and clinical application of this work. Its goal is to make Mind Body Medicine an integral aspect of our health care system, which increasingly recognizes the importance of disease prevention through self care and healthy lifestyle choices.
The Positivity And Relaxation Training (PART) program is a 9-week education program that teaches participants self-care techniques to promote health, happiness and generalized wellbeing. PART employs a variety of mind body techniques like meditation and mindfulness, physical activity and positive psychology; it also includes information on the value creativity, humor and adaptive thinking.
It is a nine-week program broken down into weekly classes that last 1.5 hours. However, it can be adapted to your group’s needs.
The cost is $175 per person.
The manual from the BHI is $50 and is included in the cost of the program.
